What the MUWIT.pl exactly is? Well, it is simple travelling wish list - beginning from Mexico city to Niepolomicka forest nearby Cracow. Here you can read about the rules or - how the captain Barbossa used to say - rather guidelines. Exactly how Alexander Lwow used to say: everybody has his Everest. I am absolutely sure that everybody has his MUWIT but not everybody knows about it YET. My goal is to make website on which all local travellers can find this what they are looking for. And this website exists exactly for this reason. And therefore here is such a mess :)

The wooden orthodox churches in Lower Beskids

Finally I was able to recover my backup (at least the part of it) and make the photos available for public. Beginning from Wysowa, through Gladyszow and to Kwiaton and Skwirtne. The most beautiful wooden tzerkvas (orthodox churches) are located here. A few of them are also listed on UNESCO. So... Enjoy the photos from outside and inside as well...

Čergov - On the other riverside of Poprad - written by Marcin Żyła

Čergovske Mountains are like the Bieszczady Mountains - but in miniature. There are not lot of woodlands - the clearings and polonynas are directly recognized as our - Polish - polonynas. The ranges are rather opened - on most of peaks it is hard to find a regular woodland. Below is the kingdom of beech - simply common in Carpathian Beech Forests. It is not the end of similars: The peaks, narrow on top, I had to take around nearer - below the rocks on top which are known from Tarnica nest in the Bieszczady Mountains.

Gorczanska Chata (Gorczanska Mountain Hut)
overnight with climate
- Ochotnica Górna

  |    |     |

Nothing has been changed. Means that everything has been changed. It is information for those who perfectly knows that - exactly in this mountain hut, long time ago, I lost my heart... It seems that I recovered it now.. This mountain hut came back to the former times (at least 10 years ago). I am taking about the the spiritual issues as technical issues are completely other matter and surprised me every single day. It is better than good to know that there is a group of hut lovers who have made - from almost ruined hut - a perfect hut which could be a proud for any builder. The renovation works are still on place so you can expect not expectable... but...

Trail of Icons - San Valley- In the orthodox churches the fans of history of art will find unique icons, that is sacral paintings on the wood. In Poland icons were made mainly in 15th to 17th century in the Eastern and South-eastern areas, precisely in the area of the Sanok commune. You just have to see it!

City Tours:

Prague - UNESCO listed city centre [Czech Republic] - by Wonder
The city centre of Prague was listed on UNESCO in 1992. Praha is known as one of the most attractive capitals in Europe therefore there are lot of visitors every year. In Prague there are over 20 museums and almost 100 art galleries.

Vienna - UNESCO listed city centre [Austria] - by Forel & Ziellona
The historic centre of Vienna is rich in architectural ensembles, including Baroque castles and gardens, as well as the late-19th-century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks.

Stockholm [Sweden] - photos by Wojan, Thomas and Ziellona
The capital - Stockholm - is laid in eastern sea side. It is "secured" by thousands of islands.: "This is not a city - he said strongly - It is ridiculous to name it as a city... You are thinking what it thinks by itself that it is so proud of itself..."

Roma UNESCO listed city centre [Italy] - by Wonder and Ziellona
The town on seven hills. The town of Remus and Romulus. The town which smells with history. And unfortunatelly the history is only one point which goverment is interested in. The marketing is based on the sentence: "we are not obligated to show you anything. We don't want to take care of you. You will come here without our influence. We are the Roma"

Paris [France] - by Ziellona
Th heart of Ile de France is - of course - Paris. There are a lot of interesting places (cities, towns, villages) here as well. But let us speak frankly - the magnet for tourism in this region is - laid on Seine banks - the miracle town.

London [England] - by Ziellona
The whole world in one place. And it is not a story about British Museum only (which has more treasures of Egypt than Egypt by itself). In every street, on every corner you can see the diversity of the world. Asians, Afghans, people from Ghana, Afghanistan, Somalia... Poles, Russians, Hungarian... Greeks, Turks, Arabs... Jews, French, Spaniards... Mexicans and islanders. Everyone has his/her culture and tradition. The City is - as Peter Acroyd has written once - alive, various and interesting. And therefore London is like a whole world.

The towers of rebels - półwysep Mani [PELOPONEZ]
The homeland of every single rebellion, revolution and revolt. The region which is - as no other region in Greece - a reminiscent of the Middle Ages. Let us say that the Middle Ages lasted here, without any visible changes, till the end of XIX century. Even now crossing the magical border of Taygetus, man step in the completely different world. The world where time itself seems to stand still almost one hundred years ago. Or even earlier.

On the throne of Zeus
Mount Olympus. The mount - the myth. The mount which is probably a dream of Mythology reader. The mount which was home of ancient gods. And it is worth to admit that there is no other mountain range in Greece which is more suitable for Zeus and his big family.

England:

Kent County - the photos

The first SPA town in Royal Tunbridge Wells, the green parks of Sevenoaks, Canterburry cathedral listed on UNESCO and the tiny churches in wetlands.

North Yorkshire

I'm not surprised that the best criminal stories were written here (however "The Hound of the Baskervilles" was written in nearby Devon). I was not surprised when I saw the spade propped against the wall. The first uncontrolled thougt was..."I am wondering whre they have burried the death body..." Oh yeah - in this kind of terrain it is very easy to think about murders.

Poland:

The Middle Ages on holidays - Reszel - a guide page 10+

At the turn of XVIII and XIX the world was on the beginning of modernity. The telegraph cable under La Manche Chanel was laid. Atlantic was get across. The electric engine was constructed as well. There were trains in common use and in next years would be the beginning of air transport. The world was modern and headed forward. And in meantime... In tiny and lovely town in Warmia the last witch has been burned...

Show przewodniki 10+ on larger map

Guides 10+ is an authorial project by Kasia Turska "Ziellona", which is provided under MUWIT flag.
The idea is to describe all possible, worth to visit and known by author, places in surroundings (up to 10 km from described place). This is obvious that sometimes it is 10 km, sometimes more and sometimes less... Poland is such a assorted, varied and diverse that it is impossible to put it in rigid frames of templates.

RECOMMENDED because we LIKE THEM:)
